MT2's
Proprietary ECOBOND® Technology
The metals treatment technology process
deployed by MT2 includes chemical treatment
processes for the remediation of heavy
metals. This treatment is achieved via
MT2's process under the brand name ECOBOND®.
This US EPA and multi-state approved process:
•
Has a strength and 1,000-year
simulated durability that has
been verified by TCLP leaching
parameters, Multiple Extraction
Procedure (MEP).
• Uses a broad range of
proprietary and patented materials
that are one of nature's best
stabilizers for leachable lead,
and other heavy metals.
• Forms a chemical chain
that binds with metal ions forming
insoluble metal complexes.
• Produces a reaction that
proceeds at ambient temperatures
and does not produce secondary
waste streams or gases.
• Can be applied in wet
or dry form, be applied in-situ
or ex-situ, and increases the
volume of the waste by only 1%
to 5%.

The
ECOBOND® process treats a wide range
of metals, including:
• Arsenic
• Aluminum
• Antimony
• Barium
• Cadmium
• Chromium
|
|
• Lead
• Mercury
• Selenium
• Radionuclide
• Zinc

ECOBOND®'S
Advantages
MT2's ECOBOND® patented and proprietary
processes are the most proven and widely
used heavy metals treatment in the United
States. Another critical advantage to
the ECOBOND® stabilization process
is its ease of application. By being able
to treat metals contamination to EPA,
RCRA or UTS, stabilized waste can often
be left on site rather than transported
off site to a hazardous landfill. The
disposal cost savings for metals stabilized
via ECOBOND® can often be measured
in the hundreds of dollars per ton.
ECOBOND®
Advantage Benefit to Clients
•
Lower Cost Generally 30% to 50%
lower cost than alternative treatment
methods.
• Reduced Environmental
Liability ECOBOND® combines
with metals to form new minerals
that are extremely insoluble;
significantly reduced long-term
liabilities.
• Eliminates the Generation
of Hazardous Waste No hazardous
waste manifesting; substantial
off-site disposal cost savings.
• Proven Technology Proprietary
technology approved by the EPA
and state regulators in over 5
years of operations with guaranteed,
field-validated reliability. Treated
materials pass the EPA's TCLP
leach test and the more rigorous
UTS and MEP which simulates 1,000
years of metals stabilization.
• Best Available Technology
Guaranteed lead recovery/recycling.
A permanent and irreversible treatment.
• Technology can be applied
in wet or dry form.
• In-Situ and Ex-Situ Treatment
Methodologies Enables treatment
in confining areas and allows
reuse of treated soil.

Treatability
Studies
MT2 operates a treatability laboratory
at its Metro Denver laboratory in Arvada,
Colorado. The treatability study provides
clients with a tailored stabilization
formula that is optimized for each specific
waste stream submitted. Utilizing an optimized
ECOBOND® process, MT2 provides clients
with TCLP treatment results, a treatment
formula, and an ECOBOND® cost-per-ton
to treat.
